How can I issue eGift cards via Virtual Terminal?

I've found various help and update threads and posts that discuss the ability to issue eGift cards via the Virtual Terminal and/or Dashboard, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Can anyone fill me in?

I have a couple dozen gift codes still outstanding from my previous POS system and would like to reissue the customers new codes so that all my gift cards are in one place with Square. But I'd rather do this from my computer in the back office, rather than standing in front of my POS machine getting in the way of employees and customers. 🙂

The best way to issue eGift Cards on your computer would be to just use your own eGift Card website. You can set up an eGift Card promo code for 100% off, and use that.

Put your business name & email in the From Section, and the customer as the Recipient.

Not super elegant, but easy enough!

Thanks for the reply. That might turn out to be just what I do. (Though I worry such things will mess up some accounting somewhere.)

Seems odd there was an official announcement that you can do it from the Virtual Terminal though, since there doesn't seem to be a way that I can find.
