Does anyone know how to suspend sales for an indefinite time period?

We need to close our shop tomorrow morning.  Does anyone know how to suspend sales?  Thank you!

Hello @wrightw

Sorry to hear about you having to close up for a bit.

If you're talking the Online Store environment, there is a toggle for accepting online orders. From your Online web dashboard, go to Settings -> Checkout.

If you have subscribed to any of the add-ons, (marketing, teams, customers, etc), you'll probably want to stop those services.

Dashboard -> Account & Settings -> Business -> Pricing & Subscriptions

For the rest of the in-person sales, you don't have to do anything special. There are no fees to keep your account open but inactive.

Best of luck to you! I hope you're able to get back up and running sooner than later

I am not sure you understand.  We were running a holiday sale to support our teachers.  We do not want anyone able to purchase anything after tomorrow.

We aren't temporarily shutting down.  We want to close the link so no more payments are received for this sale.

@wrightw The same advice applies for a temporary or permanent closure.

If there are any plans at all to do this kind of sale again next year it won’t hurt anything to just disable the store as I said and basically forget about the square app. That way all the back end financial things (banking info, etc) will still be there for a possible restart.

If your absolutely sure this is it and you won’t be using the setup at all you can deactivate your Square account from the web dashboard. I’m assuming that will also remove the online store but I’m not entirely certain. Be aware though that you will lose access to any data stored on square.
