Device Code for logging into the Appointments iOS app?

Is there a way to log into the Appointments app with a device code like the Square POS app? Would like to have passcodes on a shared device.

You can set up passcodes for each employee using Appointments, @TheNailBar!

You'll want to head to the Team section of the Dashboard to set up your team first. Next, open your Square Appointments app and turn on the Passcodes setting: Settings > Security > Enable Passcodes > here, you can specify when a passcode is required.

Can other full access team members sign in and turn the passcode on?

Yes they can since full access allows team members to change app settings  🙂 @TheNailBar

I just checked and here’s what I found:

On the grey square app, when I go to settings as a “full access” team member, I’m given a warning that says I’m not allowed access.

On the green appointments app, even though I should be able to manage the calendars of other employees, I’m unable to even sign on because I’m not the “owner” and I’m not a team member on Appointments.

Hey @TheNailBar - Sorry to hear you continue to have issues with your Full Access permissions. I advise asking the owner of the account to double-check the permission sets located in their Square Online Dashboard.

The owner can make the necessary Team permission changes by heading to the Team section of the online Square Dashboard > Permissions > Select an existing permission set and make edits > Click Save. Any changes made will apply to the team members assigned to the permission set.

Almost forgot to mention, in the permissions sets section under Appointments, have the owner make sure the button is in blue where it says: "Grant access to manage personal or business level appointment settings" (see below).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi - I am having trouble following these instructions. I don't see the "security" option in any of the appointments settings. I looked on the desktop/dashboard, ipad appointments app, and iphone appointments app. I am the primary authorized user on my account so it should not be a permissions issue. please help!

Hi there @gresserin 👋

Did you already set up your team in the Team section of your Dashboard?

You'll want to make sure you've done this before trying to enable passcodes for team members.

If you have already set up your team, and still aren't seeing the passcode option in-app, please let me know here and give us a call to get in touch with our Appointments team!
