Create item in updated point of sale takes more steps during a sale

In our shop, we sell items on consignment and I need to track the item number sold for the artist.  In the previous version, I could create an item while making a sale and it would automatically be added.  Now when I create a new item, I have to then go back into the library to find that item to add it to the sale.  This was the way it worked in older versions, it was fixed, but now is missing again.  Very frustrating and time consuming when making a sale.
