My customers are used to receiving detailed Quickbook invoices from me on a monthly basis. I then get approval from them to charge their credit card on file by me logging in to Square and doing it manually.
This month I tried something different. I used SQUARE to send each customer a SQUARE Invoice directly (adding my usual detailed Quickbooks PDF invoice as an attachment). This backfired on me across the board, either my customers said they did not receive anythig from SQUARE (i.e. it went to their Spam folder) or they complained that they could not see the attachment until they paid the invoice (which is not true, but they are confused as to why they have to now click a Pay Now link in their email from Square before they can see an attachment link).
The perfect solution for me, would be if I could send my customers a personal email directly from me where I could reference/add a LINK to a corresponding SQUARE Invoice where the could pay SQUARE directly.
Is is possible for me to create a Square Invoice for a customer and copy a link for that invoice that I could send to my customers from my email address?

You can send a link to the invoice to the customer. If you reopen a sent invoice, there is a Share button on the bottom of the page. It'll give you a link you can copy and paste in your email.
Also, have your customer whitelist the invoice email address which is
invoicing@messaging.squareup.com

Thanks for surfacing this, @Choreo, and props to @ryanwanner for the suggestion—I was thinking the same thing as a possible workaround. 😉
For more details, have a look here: Print and Share Invoices.
In addition, I'll be sharing this experience with our Invoices Team. We're always making updates based on seller feedback. Appreciate your patience and please don't hesitate to let us know if anything else comes up!

I think @ryanwanner's suggestion will probably be a workaround for me.
I have a group of regular clients that I usually invoice monthly. Most of them have strong spam filters and some are not email-savvy enough to even know how to whitelist an email address. They do all get my emails however as we are corresponding on their projects.
I create my detailed invoices in Quickbooks and they are sometimes several pages long, so I have started just adding those as attachments to the SQUARE invoices and just using a single line item in Square with a note to (see attached invoice for details).
I did get my first client this month that I tried this with and they said "I had to pay the invoice before I could see the attached invoice". I think why they were confused is maybe because the email they received said "Pay Now" or something to that effect and they were hesitant to click as there was no real clarification as to what they would be paying for yet? Once the do click the link in the email and they are in the Square interface the "View Attachment" link appears at the bottom, but most customers will want to review that before paying and the email from Square implies "Just pay the bill" with no explaination as to what the bill is for.
I think my best solution will be to create a Square invoice with one line item and a total due with a notation in that line item to (see separate attached invoice", attach a PDF invoice from Quickbooks, then open Quickbooks and click the Email Invoice from there using my email as sender. Then inside my email add your payment link from your Share link. This way my clients get a detailed PDF invoice directly from me as they are used to, but simply adds a link for them to submit payment through Square.

Appreciate you taking the time to lay this out, @Choreo. I will raise your followup with our Invoices Team as well. It sounds like simplifying the payment option and/or allowing the ability for sellers to customize the email template more would go a long way in this case. Please keep in touch for updates.

Tom I'm wondering if there is a way to simplify this even more. So with my PayPal acct if someone owes me $10 I can type in Facebook messenger to them Paypal.me/jesijanney/10
I dont have to type their email or anything once they click on the link they add their email and address which is so helpful because than we get their correct address each time and the money goes directly to our PayPal acct when they put in their credit card information and pay. I have been using this more often than square because of how simple this is. Is there any way at all we could do something similar especially if someone doesnt need a detailed invoice.

Hey @JesiJanney - If you're look for a quick way to get paid outside of sending an invoice, it sounds like Cash App might work for your needs in the meantime. We will also share your feedback with our Invoices team to consider for future improvements.

is there a way to push quickbooks invoices to square so it can be sent as a square invoice automatically?
