Buyer charged back his card for $500 on a bike purchased from me. Shouldn't he have to return it?

I sold a used bicycle to a client in October.  On the 12th of November, he disputed the charge, stating that the item 'is not as described.'  Square has apparently given him his money back, and debited all of it from me.

 

Before this, the client made ZERO effort to contact me with any problems or issues.  I heard nothing from him about being dissatisfied.

 

So my question is:  Does the client get to keep the bike anyway, and I just have to eat it?  Shouldn't a return of the item in new and saleable condition be a pre-requisite for a refund?https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMS_z5xj7fp14CACRhWefbvh6r8-wz_MHXVowKlI've tried to link to a photograph of the bike, so it can be seen that we're not talking about a Huffy here.  It's a legitimate, modern day Trek alloy road bike with carbon fork and Ultegra/105 group.  However, this form provides no means of searching your own computer to upload an image; the Google Photos link to said image doesn't work either.  Bad form design, Square-but that's another topic.

HI, unfortunately, yes, they keep the bike and yes, it is a business loss.

 

Yes, you can add an image here on this form, from your computer or URL.  (URL you provided does not work)

Yeah.  I clicked the camera icon.  It produced only a text box with 'source' and provided no dialog with which to select images.

 

So, what you're telling me is that, basically, I don't really have to pay for anything anymore.

 

Knowing this, I'll now just go buy stuff and then dispute every charge, so I get my money back and don't have to pay.  I mean, if 'Item not as described' is enough to get my money back and screw the seller, then that must be alright.

HI, check Facebook Marketplace, eBay and Mercari, this person may have sold it already.  More evidence for the police report.
