If you missed any of these feature releases and announcements then now is your chance to get caught up! Here are all the product updates that were posted on the US Seller Community in March. ๐Ÿ™Œ

 

New Accounts Feature: Mobile Location Switching

  • We know that sellers with multiple merchants or multi-location merchants have a hard time switching between their various properties on both web and mobile. To help make things easier, weโ€™ve launched mobile location switching!

 

New Retail Feature: Sell-by Units and Stock Conversion

  • Square for Retail Plus subscribers will now be able to sell an item in different units, and track inventory with those units - for instance, sell candles by a case of 12, by a bundle of 6, or by a single candle.

 

New: Square Appointments Calendar Improvements

  • Weโ€™re excited to announce a few improvements to the Appointments calendar that can help you manage recurring and canceled appointments.

 

New Square Online updates for March

  • Buyer-entered location for QR code ordering
  • Custom Afterpay eligibility ranges
  • Enhanced order scheduling flexibility
  • Video upload

 

New: Custom Fields now available on Recurring โ€œCollect a Paymentโ€ links

  • Square Online Checkout โ€œCollect a Paymentโ€ links allow you to offer memberships and subscriptions for your items, services and donations. If your subscription has fulfilment needs such as collecting the buyerโ€™s shipping address or maybe their grind preference for a coffee subscription, there are now two custom fields available for your use.

 

New: Recurring โ€œCollect a Paymentโ€ Subscriptions Now Appear in Order Manager

  • Order Manager helps you manage your fulfilment workflow. Until recently, orders generated through recurring โ€œCollect a Paymentโ€ links were not tracked in Square Order Manager, which was a big frustration point. To help with this, weโ€™re excited to share that subscriptions generated from your โ€œCollect a Paymentโ€ links will now appear in Order Manager alongside all your other orders.

 

New Retail Feature: Loyalty Check-in on Square Register Customer Display

  • Your customers can now check in and select their Loyalty rewards on the Square Register customer display on Square for Retail.

 

New: Customer Profile In Cart

  • As you know, providing a quick, easy, and personalized checkout experience for your in person, repeat customers increases sales, retention, and customer satisfaction. Weโ€™re excited to announce a quicker way to add customers at checkout and see their full customer profile in Square Point of Sale. This feature is available now on your iPhones and iPads using Square Point of Sale version 5.82.

 

New: Square Photo Studio app updates

  • Use your camera roll photos with the app
  • Refine background removal
  • Edit the shadows

March has been an unexpectedly good month for new features! The new pickup options are a game changer for one of my locations, which functions more like a bakery, while the custom fields on recurring payments will finally let me move my "tea of the month club" to Square from another platform. 

 

I do have to say that I am very happy to finally be able to switch locations in the app โ€“ it's a massive quality of life improvement! It used to be so difficult to see transactions from different locations on mobile; the mobile version of the Dashboard did not give the option to filter by location (unless you switched to the desktop version, which by definition isn't user friendly on a small screen), but now I can easily switch locations in the app to see my individual transactions.

It would be great if the switch between locations feature was on the Square Appointments App as well!

 

It would be great if the Square Teams shifts were integrated with Square Appointments schedule so we don't have to do double the work. Making sure the stylist shifts match up with the Square Appointments schedule. If you forget to open stylist appointments on day they are scheduled on the shifts.... its allowing.

Great job with March updates...can't wait to see what April brings.  I like that you try to update across the board that everyone may benefit from one or multiples.  I for one have started using the customer profile and the appointment cancellation update.  Keep it coming Square ๐Ÿ™‚

I am absolutely loving the ability for customers to be able to check in themselves on the front facing Square register when using Square Retail! It is easier and less time consuming for the customer to do it and I think it is more engaging for them as well. Thank you!

Not really liking they took away conformation out of the free subscription option otherwise i love my square.

While I understand the new Sell By feature, it still doesn't answer the problem of needing to bundle multiple items into one. Maybe I can paint the scenario ... a retailer has 10 items in their inventory library, with a quantity of 5 of each item. For bookkeeping purposes, the cost has already been applied to each item. Now, this retailer wants to use 1 of each of those items in a basket they're creating to sell these items bundled together! (You might be asking why we didn't build it into our inventory that way to begin with. It's because at first we were selling them individually, but now they're getting stale and we need to move them, so we're going to bundle them with other similar items.) The issue is that there is no way to accomplish this without affecting our associated costs and totally screwing up our COGS records. (FYI: "Inventory recount" is NOT the answer!) *** I hope this helps your team better understand what we're trying to accomplish and that we could sell SO MUCH MORE if you could figure this one out. The request has been out there for YEARS!!!

Awesome! But I really need AfterPay to be available for local delivery orders. Is that something that is going to be considered in the future?
