[New] Square Appointments Calendar Improvements
Hey all,
We’re excited to announce a few improvements to the Appointments calendar that can help you manage recurring and canceled appointments:
Recurring Appointments Improvements:
- Cancel “this and following” on iOS and web - previously you could only cancel a single appointment in a recurring series, or all appointments in a recurring series, but now you can cancel an appointment and any appointments following it. Note that this feature is not yet available on Android or Square Register.
- “On Nth W Day of the Month'' on all platforms - previously you could only create “On Nth Day of the Month” appointments but now you can create appointments that recur on the Nth weekday of the month. For example, while previously you could only create a recurring appointment “On the 1st Day of the Month”, now you can create a recurring appointment “On the 1st Monday of the Month”.
View Canceled Appointments on Calendar on iOS
You can now view canceled appointments on your calendar on iOS.
When you or a customer cancels an appointment, you can now confirm that the cancellation went through and have visibility into cancellations on your calendar.
To use this feature:
1. Go to calendar settings.
2. Under Additional Filters > Turn on the “Show canceled appointments” filter
3. Canceled appointments should now appear in gray with a strikethrough on all calendar views.

We use Square Appointment on a nearly daily basis so these new updates are most welcomed. We can’t wait to try them out. Many times we will find ourselves looking over our books and saying “wasn’t someone booked at this time’ or “someone must have canceled”...this added feature to be able to view cancelations is a game changer 🙂

PLEASE GET A DEPOSIT OPTION!!! All these changes and we have been asking for this ONE change for years!! Adding the prepayment option for deposits it’s too much of an hassle! It’s so much extra work! I want to love y’all’s appointment system but that one feature is bringing it down! Before you say use the require card option I have done that and some how they are still able to remove it and I’m not able to charge for No Show! This is so frustrating

Shame on you for removing the calendar sync feature from free accounts. Small businesses cannot justify $29/mo for a feature we've been using for free (well, you're getting your high transaction fees) for years. No advance notice, no grandfather, I found out it wasn't working when my clients called to say it was broken. Now looking for a new PoS provider.

I found NO indication that our calendar synchronization was being REMOVED until I was discovering double-booking (and some angry customers). No warning, no accommodation. This is terrible business practice. Adding features to a paid tier makes sense, but shifting long-time free functionality to a paid tier without any warning? Infuriating.
