Why, oh why, can't Online Pricing AND In Person Pricing be the same instead of ONLY online/discount

I haven't figure out a way to set up my POS to show "Retail Price" and then have a Sale Price in person. You can set it up for online stores, but not in person.

 

The only, archaic, way I've thought about doing this, is having a "online" and "in person" item that are the same, but only show 1 in 1 place and 1 in the other place. 

 

Kind of way too much. It would be easier on the item information to have "Retail" "Sale" price and allow that to work in person and online and be done with it.

 

Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Hi @CFSDAVE.  You’re right — any workarounds to this known limitation are “kind of way too much.”  I’m sorry to say, however, that you have run across something that is currently an issue.  Currently, sale prices are only applicable to online stores, not to in-person sales.  Here is a link to a similar question from 2023 where I weighed in with everything that I could think of at that time.  Nothing has changed.  If you want to submit a feature request, I explain how to do so there.  Hopefully the OP of that other post already did so and you can just like/upvote theirs.  But, if not, I’d recommend doing so.

 

Honestly, with all of the activity lately with software updates in the item catalog, I’m hopeful that Square is already working on this and it is just not ready yet.  So one other thing I’ll recommend is to go to the Software Updates board and subscribe to it.  That way you’ll see new updates in a daily email.

 

Otherwise, for now this is what it is, I’m afraid.  I’m sorry to be the bearer of not so good news.
