Are signatures still required on purchases over $25.00?

Can a transaction be completed without the customer having to sign the I-pad screen if the purchase is over $25.00 and they are present for the sale? 

Searching for a solution to avoid spreading germs on the surface of the I-pad during this pandemic period and still complete the sale.

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

To help speed up your checkout experience, the Square app allows you to disable customer signatures for all card payments or for card payments under $25. The options to skip the signature screen for all payments are turned on by default, but can be adjusted within the app:

1. Tap the three horizontal lines in the navigation bar. 
2. Tap Settings > Signature & Receipt.
3. Select whether you’d like to Collect Signature for card payments. If so, you have the option to Always Collect or only Collect Signature Over $25.

Skipping signatures for small payments will save time, but it will also prevent customers from adding tips on printed receipts.
