Add A$ prefix to AUD instead of using plain $

Add A$ prefix to AUD instead of using plain $

Most of my consumers are from outside Australia. This leads to bit of confusion with the website where prices are marked as plain $ instead of A$. People often think that it is USD and they may pass thinking that it is expensive. I have been asked by few consumers that it is very expensive and I have to confirm that the prices are in AUD not USD. (I have already mentioned that in the product page - but, they just don't see it)

It will be really great and low cost/high impact update to have distinguishing currency symbol.

Please let me know if it is possible.

Great shout there! Good idea.

Thanks for the suggestion @darklord - I'll pass this on the eCommerce team per @MJD's suggestion 🙂

For now, I'd recommend making it clear that prices are in AUD and that for international transactions, a customer's bank will perform a currency conversion based on exchange rates.

Thanks very much guys. I see this is implemented now.

Good to hear @darklord! I wasn't actually aware that this change had been made, so I appreciate your flagging it!

@MJD is this working on your end?

Ah, it is only showing in some places.

I can see subscriptions page shows that up:

https://www.trendoscope.com.au/auto-charting-combo

Was not showing up in store yesterday. But, it is now:

https://www.trendoscope.com.au/s/order

Still does not show up in the checkout button generated from square dashboard.

https://www.trendoscope.com.au/recurring-subscriptions

But, overall it is ok for now. Gives enough hints to consumers on the currency they are paying

I have the same issue when sending an invoice to an American customer, they are confused whether it's in USD or AUD? has this feature change to add A$ to the invoices been incorporated?

Hi @Santhiya,

Thanks for writing in with this question!

At the moment, you can only charge customers in the currency your account is set up in, e.g Australian Dollars. We don't have the option to add a prefix to the dollar amount on your invoice. You can use the "Message" section in the invoice to let your customers know that the amount charged will be in AUD and converted according to their bank's exchange rate.
