What’s one small detail you’ve added to your space that makes a big difference for your clients?
Drop a pic if you have one! We love a good "cozy corner" or "aesthetic 'shelfie'" moment.
At the hair salon I go to, they added a small coffee station and gosh... it enhances my hair day! ☕

We had plants for the first year and half we opened. It really helped warm the space but we had a plant-loving customer, who meant well, take all the plants because she felt we weren't caring for them well enough. I was able to get the plants back, but through the stress of travel, environment change (tropicals had it rough), and unnecessary pruning we ultimately lost 5 out of the 8.
Two out of the three that survived were actually family heirlooms, plants passed down through my family. I'm the 4th generation to carry them on, but I lost my mom's trust with them since they were stolen so easily from me so she's has them back for now.

I love plants but I'm terrible at keeping them alive. I've got way too many other things to worry about! I was once given a plumeria by a family friend who NEVER gave them out to anyone except immediate family... guess how well that went for me. 😬 So I totally hear you @BrianaJo !

Haha, wow, well I don't let your love of plants think that it's ok to take the decorative plants out of local businesses.

Well, yes. It's one thing for someone to ask me if I need help taking care of my plants. It's another for a customer to take them out from under you. THAT is not ok. 😩

This is so sad! This hurts my heart. I have a ROOM for my plants! I would be so upset to lose heirloom ones!!! Best of luck on getting something new going and well loved!

A kids shelf with a bunch of games, kids toys, small puzzles. We're a very family friendly environment and the stuff that makes the biggest impact is the baskets of little cars and toys found at the local thrift store and essentially cheap and disposable that help to make the customer experience much better. We're looking to add more to this - adding in a big book shelf and more area for toys and games.

@vinesandrushes I didn't realize how family-friendly your place is! Nothing beats a good thrift store bucket o' toys for the kids!

We are a walk-up window operation at Piper's -- no indoor seating. But what we have is a huge outdoor area we call the Piper's Garden. It is shaded by two nearly 100-year old maple trees. Since it is spring, my landlords are working on landscaping for the year, but here's a picture of it, with my big awning in the distance. (Ignore the dirty tables... we just had a huge rainstorm and they're covered with maple seeds and mud right now. LOL)
Behind me, which you can't see, is a city part, complete with a playground. This is where most all of our city and neighborhood events are held. For the next three weeks we have Maifest, Memorial Day stuff, and the Northern Kentucky Pride. Also, to my right, is another city park which is really two tree-lined blocks that separate each lane of 6th Street.
All in all, we couldn't have picked a better spot for a booming ice cream shop!

Was my post helpful? Take a moment to mark it as a possible "best answer." I hate the term, and wish we could just mark posts as "helpful." But this is our only mechanism at the moment. Just remember "Best answer" should be interpreted as "helpful," and nothing more. LOL. "Best" (ugh) answers help folks possibly find solutions to similar problems they are hoping to solve.

One of the first things we noticed when opening our store, people with wheelchairs or mobility equipment had a difficult time opening and entering doors. We installed this wireless door opener package a few years ago and clients still compliment it on a weekly basis. It can really make a difference in someone's experience at your location.

Just added 12 adirondack chairs to our outside seating. We have lots of picnic tables and bar stools around our bar but folks needed some "grown-up" seating. Told my husband that I was buying them. He disagreed and said wait. Ordered from a local gentleman anyway. Everyone loves them! Psst... just ordered 12 more.

Those chairs are a VIBE! The husbands should know by now that when they say "no", that means we just double our original number. 😉 Great taste!

This might sound silly...but it's two things that I added to my refreshment bar and two things to services.
Refreshment bar
A bean to cup coffee machine (Seattleites are picky about their coffee 😄)
A "Good ice" machine that creates the pebble ice (it really does make drinks taste better 😄)
Services
5-minute mechanized scalp massage at the shampoo bowl
Scalp manipulation to encourage follicle health and stimulate hair growth
