The Holidays Are Finally Here!

Pink Friday, Black Friday, Christmas, and the New Year are right around the corner.  How are you preparing for this busy season?  What are you most excited about?

Business is up 74% over last year, which I am not complaining about, just an overwhelming year. Since September, it's really picked up, and I don't know if everyone feels the same, but I'm overwhelmed this time of year. That's not bad enough, I go and add an after-hours Sip and Shop event at the store on Saturday. That has turned into something that should have been pretty simple, a wine and beer business coming in from 4-8 pm to now, light finger food, snacks, deli trays, the works, all after Thanksgiving, and closed Thursday to one day after Black Friday. I am grateful for family being here from out of state; they all got recruited to help pull this off. I didn't mean to be a Debbie Downer. On the positive side, I did enjoy 3 days off with the youngest son, and we were down in the Detroit area for shopping, eating, and the Detroit Lions football game this past weekend. I promised myself to spend more time with my two other sons, one-on-one, and with the 3 of us. One son is married, and the other has a gf. They are both great ladies, but after losing a brother and a son, they know and have seen how special “our” time together is. One positive that came out of this horrible year is that it has brought us closer as a family and not taken every day for granted. I wish everyone the Happiest of Holidays and stop to enjoy it!

Tammi ❤️ thank you for sharing all of this. It really sounds like you have been carrying so much. A 74% increase in business is incredible, but it makes sense that it also feels overwhelming during such a busy time of year. You are NOT being negative. You are being honest about how full your plate is. 

I want to acknowledge the strength you show in the way you talk about your family... After everything you have been through, the intention and love you pour into your kiddos, and the way you cherish your time together, says so much about who you are. Grief changes us (no doubt), but you have used it to bring everyone closer. I ADMIRE IT. 

I am glad you had those days with your youngest, and I love that you are creating more 1 on 1 time with your boys. I'm wishing you a peaceful and meaningful holiday season @Twpchair, and a little space to breathe and enjoy it!!! 🎄 Take pics!

74% increase.... Congratulations on such an accomplishment.  I really admire you @Twpchair. Having been through so much you still find the strength to not only focus on growing your business but also making sure family is the priority.  Continued prayer for you guys...

I know this was over a month ago, but after the last month that I've dealt with - I'm just happy to know that next week will be calm and quiet for us, my husband and I will get time to just sit and relax and destress.  As a service business, the holidays do not reflect in our sales.  That being said, the winter weather usually does, so it's usually very hectic.  The weather this year has just been bananas and we just really need a break.  We have so much on our shoulders right now and we're finally at a place where we can decompress and look forward to the end of the year in two weeks.  I'm going to soak up every hot chocolate, popcorn and Hallmark movie moment I can get!! 🎄
