We have a convenience store with a short order grill. Customers can leave tips when they pay with their card, but we also have a tip jar by the register, where they can leave cash tips. All employees are paid well over minimum wage, and we don't have servers/waiters, so we just do a weekly tip pool, based on hours worked. Right now, I run a tip report, add the weekly card tip amount to the weekly cash amount, and calculate each employee's earnings based on their hours worked but as our business grows, it is starting to take longer and longer each week. I use square payroll, so I noticed tips paid via card can automatically be calculated with the tip pool and added to their check. How would I add the cash tip jar? I know there is a way for employees to declare cash tips when they clock out, but these cash tips are not given to a specific employee, but instead just left in a locked shared tip jar throughout the week. Is there a way I (as the owner) can add these cash tips to the total tip amount so it is calculated in the tip pool and added to the employee's tips on their paycheck?
