some items in your cart are no longer available

We keep having an issue with our site where when customers go to check out they receive an error message "Some items in your cart are no longer available......" .

The error comes up after payment is processed.

I have been told by support that it is because we are using time based categories, and that they don't support orders being placed for future times. However I have that set up for another category without issue.

 

Ultimately I am trying to allow guests to place an order for dinner items at anytime, while limiting when the items are available for pick up. I have been able to do this for our lunch menu, but I'm told that it working properly for lunch is the error, and that not working for dinner is the system functioning properly.

@KidA Unfortunately, this one I do not know how to fix. Maybe you could try duplicating the lunch items that do "incorrectly" work and then just change the info? Maybe that would trick the system?

It does seem weird that customers are not able to place a scheduled order for time-specific items.

I would suggest putting this as a requested feature in the Ideate board as well.

Did you resolve this? I am having the same issue and support has been unable to fix it. I am not tracking inventory and the item is listed as visible on the site. I don't have any time based categories. Orders were flowing fine yesterday.

The strange fix for me was to make this change... Originally I had 13 modifiers on the item, all set to "required". I changed 3 modifiers to be "not required" and now orders can flow through again. Buggy behavior in my opinion.

to be honest I am not sure if it is still occurring as I figured out that if I just set up the modifiers differently then the orders would come through. It isn't a perfect fix as I would like all of the modifiers to be required, but will get us through for this year. We are just a volunteer group taking orders for an annual event so I don't want to change it back during the ordering since it is working now.
