This looks great! It seems like Square has improved many of the features that sellers have been requesting. I will need to try it out!

This does not seem like an upgrade.

Design-wise, it is nearly the same.
You took away the ability to swipe, now requires the USB dongle.
A bigger screen would have been nice.

I don't own a register, I use a iPad Pro 12.9, but always kind of wanted a register, because it had all payment types.

Could I use a 1st gen Customer Display with a 2nd Gen Register?

Design wise our second generation Register does look quite similar to the first generation. It's been upgraded to run 40% faster, with 2x the memory, 4x the storage and a more durable design (IP54-rated hardware). It's an extremely powerful countertop device!

You cannot use a 1st gen Customer Display with a 2nd Gen Register. I'm curious your specific concern regarding the removal of swipe, do you primarily use swipe for gift cards or other use cases?

@Nattom While we don't currently have a formal tester program available, I understand wanting to evaluate it before making a purchase decision.
