Don’t understand why a code is needed for a customer backing out of tap to pay. What is that?
@Suziknitz If you are using the square stand, some of those are where you spin it around for the customer to complete the transaction, well some knucklehead backed out of a transaction and just hit cash or something else, so it looked like it was paid, but it wasn't.
It is basically a security measure to keep them from getting outside the workflow.

Thanks. I just have my phone. I am an amateur. So does this apply to me? Getting nervous about using it now
@Suziknitz If You are there with the customer, I wouldn't worry about it, as you can watch them, and you know if the transaction is completed when you turn it around. For the most part when I use my phone, I don't hand it to the customer till the tip screen if I do that.
Thank you for your reply. I am a rookie Square user and find navigating the website confusing. I am just using Square on my phone as POS for craft shows. I’m still confused - can this backing out thing happen with customers tapping on my phone? Thanks!
@Suziknitz not really, I wouldn't worry about it. It is more for the square stand when you spin it around to the customer or if you don't want an employee to back out of a transaction without a manager code. If it is just you and your phone, my advice and experience is don't worry about it.
