I want to be able to override a Item price for daily specials.

Missing a important feature for Square For Restaurants. 

I need to have my wait staff to be able to override a item price for our ever changing daily specials. Current discount variable feature is not good enough. At the very least I would need to apply a dollar variable discount to a specific item and not the whole order sale. 

I want to them to be able to do this within Restaurant POS app as they are putting items in for the kitchen.

Like for example, I usually always take off $0.30 for specials. However I want to apply that any item I decide. 

Like why can I select a % discount per item and not a dollar amount??? Makes no sense to be honest. Or even give a manager a ablility to modify the price??? Square for Restaurants should have these.

Thanks for the question. We do offer price variations to help with these types of situations,  the price override function is a Feature Request at this time. 

You do have the option to use the feature of Automated Discounts. This is a timed discount which would apply it to certain items. This may  be a workaround depending on your settings and variations.  Example:  If Meatloaf is always the special for Monday, you can create a Monday special timed discount and apply it to just that item for Mondays.
