Different delivery zones for different item categories

SHOP TYPE: Florist and gift shop
LOCATION: Australia

CURRENT SYSTEM: Square POS + Inventory Management System (for in store sales)

FUTURE SYSTEM: Square Website (to ensure stock count reflects online sales)

QUESTION/NEED: 
We want to be able to offer:
- local in-house delivery for all items on the website (including gift hampers)

- nation-wide delivery, through a courier provider, for ONLY gift hampers

Is it possible to limit delivery zone/methods to accommodate for this circumstance?

Yes, this should work, because fulfilment is set per item rather than for the whole store. In your Square Dashboard go to Items, then Item library, open an item and scroll to Fulfilment methods. Tick Local delivery only on the flowers and other local-only items, and tick both Local delivery and Shipping on the gift hampers. Bulk edit in the Item library lets you select every hamper and set them in one go. Your local delivery area and fees sit in the delivery settings and the courier rates in the shipping settings, so the two stay separate. Before launch, place a test order for a hamper on its own, a bunch of flowers on its own and a mixed basket, and check the checkout only offers what you expect each time.
