Square Register PIN screen

Hello all,

Just got 2 of our Square Registers and under More/Settings/Security I have Passcodes enabled.   If I reboot from the login PIN page or from Checkout screen it boots up and goes to the Checkout screen and asks for a cash drawer amount.  This seems like a security issue.

On reboot I want it to go to the PIN screen.

I noticed that in the same settings I had Teams passcode enabled. If I turn that off then it acts normal and on reboot it comes up to the PIN screen like it should.   If I turn on the Teams passcode in Security Settings and reboot, it boots up and goes to the checkout screen.

I don't get it?  Any idea?

Hey @cashxx,

Thanks for being a part of the Community.

Do you have Cash Drawer Management enabled on one of the Square Registers?

From the navigation bar at the bottom of your screen, tap More.
Tap Settings > Cash Management > see if Cash Management is toggled on.

I look forward to your reply.

@RobynR Yes, cash management is enabled on both.   Seems to be tied to the Teams passcode.  If I turn that off then it acts normal.

Talked with support and she said that there is no way to lock that down. Kinda of a security concern for me.  Someone could switch the WiFi network and put it on another to sniff traffic easier or simply factory reset the register if they had the chance. She was supposed to put in a request for it.  Think it could be protected with a local PIN or something from Dash board if possible that only owner would have.
