thread Commissions on Custom Amount in Staff & Payroll

We have commissions set up for our employees as fixed rate. It is working fine on all normal inventory sales. The problem arrises when an employee makes a sale as a "Custom Amount" then there is no commission calculated for that sale. How can I fix this going forward? Thank you

@citrineca ;

I am not sure what Item(s) your sales team is selling as a Custom Amount. So what would happen if you created an Item of Custom Amount, leave the price blank and have the team member tap or if you have a scanner make a SKU or GTIN for this item and a Barcode so employees can scan it then enter the price at the time of sale. Just make sure that Custom Item is connected to being able to give the associated commision.

Now this is just a guess but in Square Reports when I used Square as my Credit Card processor for my online store, all my sales there in Square showed as Custom amounts. My online store reports would show what was sold. I am wondering if Squares system see custom amounts as not coming from a Square POS even though in your case it is. Or Square is not assigning Commision because Custom Amount is not an item to be able to receive commisions since it is not an actual Item?

Again these are guesses and just try to give a way to try to trick the system to do what you would like to do. I would use something similar to what your selling as the name instead of Custom Amount tho.
