Why is there a hard inquiry on my personal credit for business card?

Square sent me a pre approval for a business credit card that said no personal guarantor so I applied since it’s for my business but now I have all these notifications that I have a new inquiry on my personal credit! Why would this happen?

Hi @FlavaF

This is something you would want to reach out to support and the banking/cc department about. As you are correct. The last that I was aware of and according to this article there shouldn't be a hard pull (soft pull at the very most).

Hi just an update I did reach out to support and they advised they did have to do a hard inquiry on personal credit to verify identity and that would be the only way to accept the offer even though the article and everything they have about the credit card says that is not the case .

Thanks for getting back and sharing. Although its not ideal to have the inquiry, I would keep an eye on your report and make sure that it is not reporting as a new account on your personal credit over the next 30 days as well.
