m l able to add on an employee giving the access to some boards on the free version? And if l have to start paying subscription do l have to do so for all the locations

l just want them to be able to monitor stocks and not have access to the banking and some financial reports

Hi @Rue1 !

I believe you are asking how to make it to where employees can manage/monitor inventory stock but not have access to pertitent business information? If I'm wrong let me know. I have included the steps below on how to create permission set and add a team member.

To add team permissions in Square, you can create a permission set in the Square Dashboard. You can also add team members and assign them permissions.

Add a team member

Go to Staff > Team in the Square Dashboard
Click Create Team Member
Enter the team member's information
Select Complete setup
Enter the team member's job title
Select Set up permissions
Choose a permission set or create a new one
Enable the permissions for the team member
Click Save

Create a permission set

Sign in to the Square Dashboard
Select Staff > Team > Permissions
Select Create permission set
Choose a permission level: Standard, Enhanced, or Full
Customize the set by clicking Customize
Select access points for team members
Enter a passcode or select Generate to create a random passcode
Select Save

@Rue1 I’ll add one thing to @Summer2024‘s reply, since you specifically asked about the “free version.”

Whether or not this will work with the free tier depends on how many permission sets you need. You are limited to one permission set (in addition to the Owner set that we all have by default). So, as long as all employees can use the same permission set, you will be fine on the free tier. However, if you need different permission sets for different jobs, then you’d be required to upgrade to a paid tier.
