I need to change my EIN for payroll. Anyone know a quick way to do this?

My EIN is incorrect and I need to change it for PAYROLL only. Is there a way to do this without creating a new square account. I'm ok with deleting payroll and restarting but cannot create a new square account

Hey there @gzahony. After doing a little digging, it seems that this MIGHT be possible under a certain limited set of circumstances. First, I have a couple of questions to fill in the blanks from the information you did not include in your post.

Is the EIN for your business (the one that Square uses to report card processing information to the IRS) correct? Or is that one wrong, also?
Has the IRS issued you a different EIN for payroll purposes, which usually happens when you change your business structure?
Have you been using Square Payroll under the old/incorrect EIN? If so, for how long?

I’m asking all of this because I don’t want to give you bad information here. Thanks for bearing with me.
