Hi @BHB - Thanks for reaching out to us with your question. I see this is your first post in the Seller Community so I'd like to officially welcome you! 🎉👏 I am happy to provide you with some details about our 1099-K correction process.

If you are needing to update a 1099-K form, our Support Team will assist you through the process by gathering the required documents to pass along to our Tax Team. Once you have submitted these docs to our Support Team via email, the Tax Team will let Support know if they happen to need any additional information or if the 1099-K update was successful. The Tax Team does not work directly with Square Sellers.

Please note that Square's Tax Team cannot update the information in the State box on (box 6) of a 1099-K form. They can only update 1099-K forms to show the correct business name, business address, and EIN.

When a Square Seller changes their business information mid-year, either TIN or business name, the result is considered a Split 1099-K. Square does not issue these. Square Sellers in this scenario should reach out to a tax professional for guidance.

I hope this information is helpful but please do me know if you have any additional questions by replying to this thread 🙂

Has anyone been able to speak to a tax specialist? I've been communicating back and forth with Square for weeks and just keep getting the run-around. I get asked the same questions, answer the questions, provide the documents and no one has been able to help. They just tell me they are escalating the issue to a tax specialist. Nothing ever happens.
