Hello everyone!
I’m the owner of a cocktail bar in Tokyo, and I’m planning to use Square Team to organize staff shifts. The bar operates from 7:00 PM until 3:00 AM. I have a staff of 10 people.

Our staff members would like to input their availability in the Square Team app as follows: available from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM between Wednesday to Sunday. However, the Square system displays an error message saying, “Availabilities cannot overlap.” I understand the logic behind the error message, but I need a walk around method to match my bar's operation hours.

If we set everyone’s availability as “available all day,” we can assign them to shifts from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM, but this means we need to find another way to track each staff's start and end times for each day, which is very inconvenient.

How can we solve this issue? I’d appreciate any good advice you can provide.

Solution for Cross-Midnight Shifts

Split Availability Entry

For Wednesday-Sunday shifts:

First Entry:
- Start: 7:00 PM
- End: 11:59 PM

Second Entry:
- Start: 12:00 AM
- End: 3:00 AM (next day)

Day Configuration

Example for Wednesday shift:
Entry 1: Wednesday 19:00 - 23:59
Entry 2: Thursday 00:00 - 03:00

  Add New →
  Set as recurring
Weekly Pattern
1. - Wednesday: 19:00-23:59
