How can I add blackout dates so employees can't request time off on those dates? We have several days where I need all hands on deck. I want them to be added to the shift schedule to block employee time off requests for those dates.

Hi @thebrainlair. At this point you can’t do this via Square Shifts. My suggestion would be to sign up for the Homebase App which connects to Square and transfers schedules back and forth and provides this capability and much more. The free tier should have all the capability you need, I would think.

I will say that I have found in my shop that the easiest thing to do is communicate blackout dates to my employees. And, then, when they request time off for one of those, the Reject button has become my best friend. But, that’s just me. Ha.

Best,
