Clock in on Square Account dashboard

Is it possible to clock in from the Square Account dashboard (desktop)?

As the business owner I would like to track my time from the while working on the account dashboard throughout the day, instead of logging into the Square Team app.

Many thanks for any helpful advice and suggestions.

Hi @taylorandjones! There's not a simple way to clock in on the Dashboard at this time. Instead you have to manually create a timecard.

On your online Dashboard go to Shifts > Workday
Click "Add shift record"
Enter your name and job (if necessary)
Enter your clock in time, but leave the clock out blank
Save your changes

When you want to clock out head back to "Workday," find the timecard you created, then update it with a clock out time.

I find this more involved than opening up the Team App, so I hope that Square launches a browser based time clock in the near future!

Thank you @londontea The steps you outlined for creating a timecard in Shifts on the Square account dashboard worked perfectly!

Do you know if there's a way to add a note/tag along with a shift record?

My goal is to assign time to specific projects. Ideally tagged shifts could be pulled to create a project invoice.

Unfortunately there's not a way to add a shift note. It's not a feature that my business would use even if it were available, so I'm afraid that I can't think of any workarounds. Hopefully someone else is able to chime in and offer advice!
