Gift Card Employee Commission

We are exploring setting up e-gift cards and in-store gift cards. We are a commission based salon. A few questions:

When an employee sells a gift card, do they earn commission on the sale?

When a gift card is redeemed, do they earn commission on that sale?

If they earn commission on both gift card sales AND redemptions, how do we prevent paying out double commission on the same gift card?

Hi there @AdamPaulSalon. E-gift cards are not included in commission calculations, currently. Honestly, it would not make sense to do this since your employees would earn commissions on items sold that were subsequently charged to the e-gift card — as is standard practice. You don’t have to worry about e-gift card sales or redemptions causing incorrect commission payments.
