I was told square gift card can be use universal but I used it at walmart and it wasn’t working. I wanted refund but merchant declined so how do I get my money back

Hi @Tman1314. You were definitely told wrong by someone. Unless it is a generic Visa/MC/Amex gift card, it can only be used at the store where it was purchased. Walmart only accepts Walmart gift cards. As for getting a refund, you can only get your money back from the store where you bought it. They are the ones who have your money. If you have the receipt take it back to them and they should refund your money. If they don’t, you’ll have to get an attorney involved.

I was told square gift can be used anywhere like mall gifts but it didn’t work and merchant refused to refund my money. How can I get my refund? Will Square be liable?
