I have to send 2 codes to customer for one same promotin for gift card and product , this is super STUPID, please change it back, genius

sorry for the language, apologize.

the detail is when I try to set up a promotion for my service product and electronic gift card for Christmas, i need to set up promotion code for both, I use same code before, there is no problem, but this time, when I try to setup the second code, system tell me code must be unique, i have to change, then I have to setup 2 different code, and send 2 codes to customer, and tell them this one is the coupon code for service, that one is for gift card, i think this is not convenient for customer, is there anyway to back to old time ?

it is " egift card promotion code " and " marketing/coupons/coupon code" , these two can not be the same code.
