Discount deactivation without deleting

Can you add a button to deactivate a discount which can be d

reactivated when needed.

We run a number of seasonal discounts say at Christmas which are active at Christmas, not active the rest of the year. We currently have to delete the discount out of season then set the discounts back up at Christmas. We also sometimes take the discount off items if they are in the sale section of the shop, so we delete the discount.

Hey @doc_choc, thanks so much for your post! I can definitely see why this feature would be useful for your business as it goes through each holiday season. I'll be sure to pass this over to our team for further consideration to improve our products.

Although it is not possible to deactivate a discount, you can set a date range from when the discount is available. To do so:

Visit Items & Orders > Items > Discounts in your online Square Dashboard.
Click Create Discount to add a new discount.
Enter the discount details.
Toggle on Automatic Discount. Choose either Item or Category, Customer Group or Quantity > Done.
Click Add eligible items or categories to apply discounts to certain items or categories automatically.
Toggle on Set Schedule.
Set the days of the week and times of day this discount is available.
Click Save.
