thread How to report VAT (swiss way) in Reports Setup & Management

In Switzerland, there are two different VAT rates in the restaurant industry. If you eat on-site, the rate is 8.1%; if you take it to go, it’s 2.6%. That’s why many POS systems in Switzerland have two buttons at checkout to choose between takeout and dining in. This ensures that the accounting system always displays the difference between the respective VAT rates. Square does not have this feature. I’ve now manually assigned the appropriate tax rate to each item. However, this is a lot of work and is highly prone to errors. Is there another feature (suitable for Switzerland)?

It would also be great if the report could show the respective categories both including and excluding VAT. How can I set this up? Currently, I’ve placed “takeout” and “dine-in” into their own parent categories so that they appear when

selecting the customized report. But this is also time-consuming and error-prone. How do I program this according to the example in the attachment (link)?

https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/50f641b9-1f34-4ecd-bf69-91e9697f11c5
