thread Looking For More Robust Data in Tax Integrations in Reports Setup & Management

The title of this thread has been edited by a Square Moderator from the original: "tax filing frustration"

2025 was my first year with employees and I was looking forward to an easy connection between Square and Turbo Tax. Unfortunately it wasn't 😥. It took some sleuthing to find the section in TT to connect with Square. When I did, the only data point it collected was total revenue. I could easily have typed in that number myself. I thought it would plug in all the payroll data in the appropriate places, but instead it took some time to figure out where to enter taxes, EDD, and all the rest. This might have worked better if I use Quick Books, but I see no need to purchase additional software when all I need is Square to run my business.

What has been your experience filing taxes with Square?

Hello @CurlyDoodle and welcome back to the Square Community 👋 I apologize for the frustration regarding the Turbo Tax integration 😞

I reached out to our Partnerships Team and they confirmed that Total Revenue is indeed the only data point provided by the integration. We do have some other integration options for Accounting & Tax apps, here, in the Square App Marketplace.

Could you share the additional data points you'd like to see, in addition to total revenue?

I'll keep an eye out for your reply!
