What is the processing fee for Square Appointment prepayments?

Why is the pre-payment fee so much higher than a swipe or COF?

The fee for accepting prepayments is 2.9% + $0.30 and any payments accepted this way will be transferred according to your transfer schedule. It's higher than the swipe transaction fee because it's considered a card not present transaction. The higher fee for 'card not present' scenarios is due to the increased risk in potential fraud as your payment processor.
