Is there a way to turn off the “optional note” box that appears when paying with “other gift card or certificate.”

I just want to make sure we're on the same page before moving forward here. You posted in the API section of the Seller Community - are you referring to our API when you ask this question?

Or are you referring to the optional note that appears within the Square Point of Sale app when accepting a payment as Other Gift Card or Certificate?

If you're asking about this screen within the Square Point of Sale app, I can confirm that it is not possible to customize the checkout flow of the app.
