Service charge for Hardware square register

Hello,

Why square doesn't make it possible to add a tile on their own square register for service charge.

It work on on the IOS devices but not on the register.

I didn't realize service charges could be added as a tile. I believe the register has a setting to include service charges for all orders but not sure about selectively adding by customer.

Good evening,

Unfortunately the platform doesn't let me upload a picture.

I'm referring to the grid tile for check out.

I'm able on square stand equipped of iPads or on phone when editing the grid tile to have the options for service charges but for some reason I do not have this option when I try to do it on square register, why ?

Thanks for providing a little more information. You do have the ability to create item grids on the Square Register under the Square for Retail version. You will have to make sure your Square Register is updated to 5.91, once you have updated you will see the new option for the item grid. Check out more information here. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.

To add or edit a tile:

Tap and hold any tile to enter setup mode.

Tap + on any empty tile to create a new tile. Choose Item, Category, DisplayGroup, or Action.

It does give the option to edit the item grids, actions ... but not the service charges, why ?

It work on the square stand equipped with an iPad but not on the square register so I don't understand why it is not an options too.

Maybe that will be more clear:

When editing the grid items :

- Square stand equipped with an iPad I have the option for service charge

- Square register I don't have the option for service charge

on your Register by any chance?

This is a great call out, so right now service charges will work on the register if you are using the Standard Point of Sale, but availability for Square Retail Register will not roll out until 2023. We are sorry about all the confusion! I hope that provided a little bit of clarity.

It's thousand of dollars that we are missing since in NJ most place charge for credit card fee.
