How do I turn off email notifications?

I received an email notification to join a reading club. I love to read, and do so often, so I thought this might be a good fit. However, once I signed up I started receiving multiple email notifications of posts other people are making. If I cannot stop the notifications then I'm going to leave the club. Does anybody know how to turn this off?

@K4Chocolate Click on your name beside your profile avatar ---> settings ----> preferences ----> "Automatically subscribe me to topics or reviews I participate in" uncheck this box.

Then click on subscriptions & notifications ----> Notification Settings ----> AND THERE IS A WHOLE PLETHORA of customizable options on what your notifications and e-mails can be..You pick your level of detail you want.

Thank you. I tried again and it didn't show, but I went from mobile view to desktop on my phone and was able to follow your steps. I am most appreciative for your assistance.
