Moving from the US to Okinawa, Japan

I am relocating to Okinawa, Japan and trying to find out what I need to do to continue to sell using Square POS. I’ve had several colleagues tell me that even after registering a new account in Japan they were unable to accept any payments.

Thanks for writing in, and welcome to the Seller Community 👋

The country of a Square account can't be changed, so you'll have to create a new Square account, with a different email address to get started in Japan. Just keep in mind that the sign up screen will change to Japanese once you select Japan as your country! There's a sign up, and verification process that's similar to what you went through for your US account, that you'll need to complete to activate your new account as well.
