New card reader

Hi I am new my card reader has slider and square logo does this reader scan and read two ways thanku for any knowledge.

Welcome to Square! Would you mind providing more details about what you mean when you say "read two ways?"

As a background, the free magstripe reader will allow you to swipe cards only. If you wanted to accept chip transactions, you would need to check out our Square Chip Card Reader, or our Contactless + Chip Card Reader.

So square offers 2 kinds of readers you could attach to your mobile device's or tablets. They also offer 1 that uses blue tooth. I think you might have the free one that they send to you. If you want to be able to read the chips on the credit card you will have to get the chip reader. Square offers one that is a little larger than the free one they send you that fits into your earphone Jack on your mobile device which does not require chrging and they have a free standing "contactless reader" that needs to be charged and runs on batteries. Tel us which one you have so we could help you a little better?

I just need to BUY a card reader for $29 dollars and I can't find that option/ Not good site!

You can purchase your $29 mag-stripe and chip reader directly from squareup.com/shop/reader.
