Chip Reader worked on my Samsung Galaxy S5 Tablet but now only the magstrip reader works. Why?

I got the Square a month ago and have been able to accept chip and magstrip cards with no problem on my tablet. However, a couple of days ago the chip reader stopped working. I try to run a transaction and it gets stuck on the "authorizing" payment screen. A non chip card works with no issues. I plugged the square into my Samsung phone and I have no problem with it there. Anyone know how I can fix this as leaving my phone at the restaurant is not a feasible option?

My tablet and the Square app are updated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there.

That's a bit strange that it works on your phone and not the Tablet.

Check out this page with some simple troubleshooting steps, but if nothing works you might need to go through our warranty process and we'll send you a new one.

You can also look into purchasing our Square Contactless and Chip Card Reader.
