Is there a common problem with an Android phone and the chip reader?

My first chip reader doesn't charge....just blinks red all the time, so I called in my warranty. Just got the new chip reader, charged it (it actually turned green) plugged it into my phone and I get a message 'Reader Damaged' Please use a different reader!! What's the deal?! I have a big 3 day show...out of state...I leave in 3 days and have no chip reader! I use an Android Galaxy s6 Active ... I also have an old iPad II. I guess I'll try the next chip reader on the iPad 1st. So, is anyone else having this problem or is it just me?!

BTW, I don't have any music/radio programs on my phone to get in the way of it reading.

Hello!

That Android Device looks to be compatible with your Chip Reader.

It sounds like the second reader you received might have been damaged on its way to you, as that's usually what that message indicates.

You can place another warranty and we'll send you out another, but it might not make it to you in time for your show.

Your best bet in this instance would be to either pick up another Chip Reader from a retail location like Staples, or just use the free magnetic stripe reader.

those chip readers that plug into the phone seem to be very bad. I bought 3 to start with and only one worked. warrantied them and only one worked. warantied the last one and it worked.

we use the bluetooth chip reader and keep a swipper handy for old cards. The bluetooth readers go for days and haven't had a problem with any of the 3 yet.
