Why when I go on line to square.com/code am I unable to get a code so I can make a call?

When I insert a client's chip card the phone says CHIP connecting but it takes so long I have to give up and charge the account by hand which costs me more money.

CHIP connection is too slow. I insert card and it says connecting but it doesn't.
