Does Square offer an API for online ordering and printing receipts?

My client owns a sandwich chain and wishes to create an Online Order system, similar to the way you would order a sandwich on the Jimmy John's website. We have found that theres no customization with the online Square store, and when we try to integrate Square with WooCommerce or BigCommerce, we lose the automatic receipt printing feature.

Does anyone have any idea how I might achieve an automatic receipt print at the POS terminal when an online order is made? We really just need the kitchen staff of the restaurant to be aware of a new order being placed and when it needs to be done.

@NSStudios We're currently using the Square store at our Elon location (https://mediterraneandeli.com/elon) and it's working okay. The lack of customization is definitely an issue though.

We've used it for a few weeks now, so we know the system pretty well. Happy to answer any questions.

Hi there @wiltshirett!

With the Orders API, your orders that are sent to the Square Point of Sale can be configured to print to a compatible printer. Orders can be configured to print automatically or you can choose to print the order manually. To configure the app to print the order automatically, you will need to do the following:

Go to the Settings section of the app.
Scroll to the Orders section and tap Print Orders.
Toggle Automatically Print New Orders.

As for receipts, this is currently not available.

Does this work for Square Canada? I don't see this option in our POS.
