What is a Meta token?

I am trying to connect my Facebook page to my Square account. Everything is done except for this Meta token? What is a Meta token and how can I use it to complete the syncing of my Square account?

What do you mean by Meta Token, I am not seeing that mentioned in our support guide. Do you have a screenshot of where it asking for that? Thank you.

Hi! I’m having the same issue for months now! It asks for it in the checklist under mega for business it says “ inserting mega for business domain verification token into your square online store” right before “successfully started catalog publishing to Meta.

It sounds like they will provide a code or token that you can copy/paste to your site or domain DNS settings. This would be similar to the process of adding the tracking pixel as mentioned in the first step of your screenshot.

The token would need to come from Facebook (Meta) though. Do you see a link anywhere that provides the token? How did you obtain the pixel?

I don’t see a link anywhere for access to any token on Facebook. The pixel square did it automatically. I was only asked for my Facebook log in on square and it did the rest.

Hmm.. yes, that's weird because I'm not sure where else you would obtain the token they want you to provide to Square. 🤔 I'll ask around tomorrow to see if anyone has better information on where to look for this!

Does anyone have an update?

I am having a problem posting photos of my inventory on Facebook now and it's frustrating.

I would like to have Square and Facebook work together and set up a Facebook store

Can you let us know how far you got in the connection process? Do you see any error messages, or is it just the images that are missing?

I think I figured it out. I now have my Square account linked to my Facebook but it was a pain.

Go to your Facebook business page

On the left side of your screen, click on More Tools

In the Drop box, click on Meta Business Suite

On the left side of your screen, click All Tools

Click Events Manager

At the top of your screen, it says "Set up conversions API to help decrease cost per action", click Get Started

Choose Set Up Manually

Answer questions pertaining to your business

Click Complete Set Up

Scroll down, click Generate Meta Token

Go back to your Square web page where you are trying to connect square with Facebook. Click cancel and start over

It worked for me
