Haven't used Square in years. It looks way different. Having trouble adding options to my items.

I am overwhelmed. I make small items that come in 3 sizes & 20+ colors. Some items can be customized with a name/text.

All of my items will simply need the same size & color options. This whole thing seems way more convoluted than it used to be. Do I really have to do:

item - red - large

item - red - medium

item - red - small

item - red - large - custom text

item - red - medium - custom text

item - red - small - custom text

item - orange - large

item - orange - medium

item - orange - small

item - orange - large - custom text

item - orange - medium - custom text

item - orange - small - custom text.....and so on

...for all 20+ colors? I make items on demand so I also find the "inventory" system annoying. I don't receive stock from a wholesaler or anything like that. I just make what the customer orders. But if I don't enter stock, it doesn't show up.

I am really frustrated at this point. I wish there was a simple option like it used to be. Wondering if square is the wrong service for me now. 😕

Edit to add: I am online only. Having to chase down all the physical location stuff and trying to remove it or get around it is highly frustrating. I'm still not sure I've gotten it all. I'm not a big company with employees and warehouses. It would be nice if there was an option in Square to choose a simple preset site that was online only, one rate shipping, with sample color/size options that could be copied/selected for my site. All the other stuff is noise.

HI, yes, Square did do an update to the features *attempting* to make it easier. You can create Option Sets. Create one, such as Size, then as you add your item, you can just checkmark the Option Set to the item. Once you get used to it, it does make things easier.

Create Option Set

Online Dashboard, Items, Options, far right side click Create Option Set (example below)

Capture Text for personalization

Create Modifiers (same as creating Option Set)

See finished listing for a personalized t-shirt with Size, Color, and two (2) capture text boxes
