Can I use the Square Terminal with a barcode scanner via the Virtual Terminal?

I just hooked up the barcode scanner to the Terminal, it works great. Is there a way to use the scanner with Terminal & Virtual terminal paired? I can't seem to find a way.

Secondly is there a way to use the barcode scanner with Virtual terminal alone?

Currently, the Virtual Terminal + connected Square Terminal integration does not support barcode scanners just yet. This has been a bubbling feature request that we've seen and our Product Team is investigating this addition but we do not have an ETA on if or when this feature will be launched.

I'm also looking for this functionality and disappointed it is not already there. It seems like a very basic feature to be lacking on Virtual Terminal.
