Struggling with postage costs set up

Hi,

I am struggling with setting up postage fees for my online orders. At the moment, it's set up by weight, but there are some items for which the dimensions would make postage costs higher compared to when they're based on the weight.

I was wondering if I set a custom postage fee for certain items, what happens if someone orders this item as well as something else which might be on a different postage fee? Are both postage fees combined or does one overrides the other?

I was also wondering if other UK ecommerces could let me know their approach, so I can have an idea of what works and what doesn't.

As of right now, we don't have a way of creating an item or category-specific shipping rates. This is a feature request, we're still working on developing more customisable shipping rate options.

You can learn more about our current shipping options/settings right here.

But yes that's correct, the shipping fee of the heavier item will automatically override the lesser items' shipping fee.
