This is considered a 3rd Party integration because the barcode provided by Groupon is meant to be used by them and not by a third-party company like Square in this case. I would suggest reaching out to them and asking them if there are other methods to go about this besides the smartphone app.

We have a lot of customers through Groupon but they get upset that we don't have a scanner for the paper printouts they bring in. It would be great if the Square barcode scanner could scan the Groupon barcodes.

I believe there is a way to use the groupon app to scan this via a smartphone but as a small business owner (bakery) with several employees thats a super impractical solution to have everyone having access to my business groupon account and have cell phones out to do so.

we ended up just canceling our Groupon account due to some unsavory customers (Karen's) coming in due to the Groupons.
