Square Terminal and Barcode Scanner

I'm purchasing the square terminal, the HUB and the barcode scanner. Can I use any pre-printed barcode labels with this system? Or do I need something specific? I don't want to invest in a 3rd party generation software or label printer.

I don't believe we require any specific type of bar code labels. However, we do have a list of specific bar code scanners that will be compatible with Square. If you're purchasing the scanner directly from our Shop, those will be compatible. If you plan on purchasing from elsewhere, please double-check this list to ensure you're getting a scanner that will be compatible.

Did you ever get a reply? I am trying to find the same information. I just purchased a Square Terminal and would like to purchase a barcode scanner, but not sure what is compatible.

At this time Square Terminal only supports USB Barcode Scanners. Here is the list of compatible readers.

Thank you, had hoped for wireless to reduce wires in a vendor booth. Guess I will just wait. We also use an ipad so what scanners work wirelessly with that?

Thank you I believe I will do that and let my husband use the terminal as he doesn’t have as many sku’s.
